Fabian Delph sends Instagram message to Kalvin Phillips after Leeds' 3-0 win v Fulham

It was the perfect weekend for Leeds United who extended their gap to the Championship play-offs to eight points after their 3-0 thrashing of Fulham.

Marcelo Bielsa surprisingly made no changes to his side despite their 2-0 loss at Cardiff the week before and the return of Pablo Hernandez.

The Spaniard came off the bench at half-time to make sure of the three points after goals from Patrick Bamford, Ezgjan Alioski and Jack Harrison.

Kalvin Phillips has played a massive part in Leeds’ success this season, but even he would admit that he is yet to recapture that form after the restart.

The holding midfielder grew into the game as it went on, slowly making sure that the influential Tom Cairney couldn’t make a bigger difference in the crushing victory.

Fabian Delph was just as influential as Phillips when he was at the club, and he made sure to send the midfielder a message after the game.

“The Yorkshire Pirlo, love it, bro,” he said on his personal Instagram account.

All eyes are on Leeds and their players this season, with outsiders wanting them to fail, all you have to do is look at the comment section of each player after these games.

This was a real signal of intent on Saturday, and Leeds made it look very easy in the second half as Bielsa proved why he deserves to take this group of players to the Premier League.

Leeds players aren’t allowing themselves to get complacent though, as they look to avoid the disappointment of missing out on automatic promotion as they did last season.
