Junior Firpo confirms he feels well after dizziness forced him off in Leeds v West Ham
Leeds United were dumped out of the FA Cup third round by West Ham on Sunday, with left-back Junior Firo unable to finish the game.
The Spaniard was withdrawn for Cody Drameh in the 69th minute at the London Stadium yesterday (9 January), and he has taken to his personal Twitter account to provide an update on his fitness.
The Whites have had a lot of injury struggles all season, and to lose another senior team player to a knock at the moment will come as a massive blow.
Firpo said: “I was a bit dizzy, so it was better for me to come off. I feel well now. Thank you for all the messages I’ve received!
“Gutted to be out of the FA Cup but let’s focus on the league now! MOT.”
Marcelo Bielsa is currently without nine senior players at the moment, and it is good to know that Firpo only suffered dizziness after a bang to the head.
Leeds have hardly play a game this season without losing a player, and seeing the former Barcelona man taken off would have gotten some of the fans scared.
Luckily, it was not an injury blow, and the player quickly took to Twitter to allay any fears.
Leeds return to action on Sunday (16 January), with another trip to London to face West Ham again, and Firpo should be available to feature.
With around seven days left before their next game, the Elland Road outfit should also be handed some injury boosts in the coming days.
Having secured their fourth win of the Premier League campaign against Burnley on the second day of the year, the Whites will be keen to bag another victory very soon to keep them further away from the drop zone.
Securing a win against the high-flying Hammers will not come easy, but having some of their players back will boost their chances.
In other Leeds United news, Whites chiefs recently jetted out of the UK for talks.
