Journalist shares area Daniel Farke must ‘work on most’ at Thorp Arch ahead of Leeds United v Leicester City

Leeds United manager Daniel Farke must work on his defence this week, according to Leeds Live journalist Beren Cross.

The verdict comes ahead of the club’s Championship encounter with Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Friday (3 November).

The Foxes top the standings with 39 points, with the Whites sitting in third place on 25 points, with both clubs having played 14 matches.

Discussing the likes of Georginio Rutter and Crysencio Summerville, Cross wrote for Leeds Live (30 October): “Leeds clearly have the weapons to hurt the Foxes, but it may well prove to be their defence Farke has to work on most this week.”

Massive test

Farke has had plenty of tests during his brief time in the Elland Road dugout so far, both on and off the pitch. And in terms of the former, this will undoubtedly be his biggest yet, with Leicester enjoying a stunning campaign.

The Foxes are on course to storm to an early league title, and they welcome the Whites to the King Power Stadium having won 13 times and lost just once in the current campaign.

Leeds, in contrast, have seven wins, four draws and three defeats to their name, in what has been a roller-coaster season for the club already.

The fact that the Foxes are flying high makes this game difficult enough, but that it comes away from Elland Road simply increases the difficulty.

Attackers such as Rutter and Summerville can definitely cause the Leicester defence problems, but the hosts also boast plenty of attacking talent capable of tearing through Farke’s defence.
