Journalist moots ‘grave danger’ for Darren Moore after recent Leeds United development

Darren Moore’s job at Huddersfield Town is in “grave danger” after their loss to Leeds United, according to The Yorkshire Post journalist Stuart Rayner.

The West Yorkshire side won the Championship meeting between the two clubs 4-1 at Elland Road on Saturday (28 October).

Michal Helik scored for the visitors after doubles from Leeds attacking duo Crysencio Summerville and Daniel James.

“Darren Moore’s job as Terriers manager is already looking in grave danger, and he is only seven games into it,” Rayner wrote for The Yorkshire Post.

“Even for the man who masterminded one of football’s great comebacks, eight goals in a week was a lot to come back from before he has been able to get any real terrace credit in the bank.”

Tough times

Moore took his team to Elland Road on the back of a disappointing 4-0 home defeat to Cardiff City on Tuesday (24 October).

The Terriers were poor that night, and their lack of confidence was on show in West Yorkshire right from the very first whistle.

The visitors simply couldn’t keep up with the hosts, who were fastest out of the blocks, with wingers James and Summerville doing the damage.

The duo will steal all the headlines, but it was an impressive overall display from the Whites, who currently sit third place in the Championship table.

Huddersfield meanwhile are struggling at the other end of the table, and the pressure is absolutely on manager Moore.

Leeds boss Daniel Farke meanwhile will be delighted with three points, with the lack of a clean sheet and the injury to centre-back Joe Rodon the only real negatives in an otherwise fine day at Elland Road.

In other Leeds United news, an unusual clause not possible in one country has been used on one Whites loanee, with a permanent exit now on the cards.
