Journalist issues Leeds United attacker Willy Gnonto agent update amid Juventus transfer speculation
Juventus are reportedly not in talks with the agent of Leeds United attacker Willy Gnonto over a move in the summer transfer window.
According to Tutto Juve journalist Mirko Di Natale, the Old Lady of Turin are keeping tabs on the 19-year-old but anything apart from that is media speculation.
Gnonto has become an important first-team attacking option for the Whites since moving to Elland Road on transfer deadline day in the summer.
Via Twitter, Natale wrote, “On Gnonto, for the moment just speculation and that’s it. Juve observes him, but is not among the teams that asked his entourage for information.”
Transfer saga?
The Gnonto situation is akin to that of Raphinha who had such an immense first season at Leeds that suddenly everyone wanted to sign him.
Leeds kept hold of him for another season and then made good money off his sale as he had his heart set on a move to Barcelona.
With Gnonto, the situation is different as he’s still raw as a player and may not be first-team regular if he moves to a big-name club like Juventus.
Instead, if he’s getting the game time he wants at Leeds, developing as a player and also getting picked regularly for the national side, he may not mind it.
However, if crazy money is offered not from Juventus, but from a club that can actually match what Leeds may demand from him, there is a possibility of a sale.
While the Elland Road hierarchy may not want to let him go, if he wants out and the money is right, unfortunately, they will have to give in.
