Journalist claims Leeds will target three key areas after addressing ‘elephant in the room’

Beren Cross has claimed that Leeds United will target three key areas in the transfer market this summer.

The Leeds Live journalist claims that after addressing the future of Kiko Casilla, the Whites should look to add a new goalkeeper, defender and a forward.

With the enforced break meaning that Casilla’s racism ban is continuing longer than expected, there are question marks over his future at Elland Road.

Cross even came up with options for Victor Orta to bring in, with Danny Ward, Ben Davies and Che Adams all mentioned.

“Victor Orta will have three priorities in the transfer market if Leeds United are promoted to the Premier League,” he wrote.

“First things first: the elephant in the room. Kiko Casilla’s current season is finishing with a whimper and you would not be surprised if he has played his last game for the Whites.”

The three areas will certainly be places where Leeds will need to target in the summer. The heart of the defence, in goal and upfront, will all be under the spotlight.

Obviously, there could be three very easy ways to resolve that. Turning the loan moves of Meslier, Ben White and Jean-Kevin Augustin into permanent switches could mean that Orta has the rest of the transfer window to look into other targets.

Football Insider reported recently that if promotion is secured, the Whites will bring in Meslier and Augustin permanently, which will leave only a move for White on the table.

Andrea Radrizzani has already confirmed that the club will lodge an offer for the 22-year-old as well, meaning that those key three areas have been sorted before the window barely begins.
