Jonathan Leko delivers message to Leeds star after win v Charlton

It has been a whirlwind couple of months for Leeds United forward Tyler Roberts in the Championship.

The Welsh international was mainly featuring as a substitute before the lockdown, but the enforced break changed all that for the youngster.

Pablo Hernandez picked up an injury just before the trip to Cardiff, and Roberts went on to start eight of the final nine games for the Whites.

The only game the 21-year-old didn’t start in was Wednesday’s win over Charlton, which was the only match in which he managed to score in after the lockdown.

Roberts’ reward for his massive role in earning promotion was that chance to lift the Championship trophy, something he enjoyed massively.

The Leeds forward posted pictures on his personal Instagram account after the clash, with former teammate Jonathan Leko responding to his success.

“Get this picture framed ASAP,” he wrote, revelling in his close friend’s success.

If it wasn’t for an unfortunate injury, Leko would have been playing in the defeat for Charlton but was instead forced to watch on.

Leko was racially abused by Kiko Casilla in the reverse fixture, and the Spaniard was nowhere to be seen through the game or in the celebrations afterwards.

This was definitely the correct decision, with Casilla having disgraced the club with his actions earlier in the season – the game at Derby should be his last for the Whites.
