John Roder stunned by Raphinha in Brazil win v Uruguay

Leeds United superstar Raphinha made all the headlines last night as Brazil swept aside Uruguay in their World Cup qualifier.

Making his first start for his country, the winger scored twice and made a real name for himself on the international stage.

John Roder was commentating overnight in the United Kingdom, and he was stunned by the week that Raphinha has had.

Speaking on live commentary on Premier Sport, Roder was clearly a huge fan of the Leeds star as he smashed home his second of the night.

“It’s 3-0,” he said. “Life just gets better and better for Raphinha.

“An international debut last week as a substitute, another substitute appearance at the weekend and now his first start for Brazil, he has scored two goals.

“Terrific breakaway move, Raphinha had plenty to do, in off the upright.”

Roder has been working on Sky Sports and BT Sport throughout his commentary career, but he was handed a real treat on Premier Sports this morning.

Raphinha has been sensational during this international break, and hopefully, this sees him kick on another level upon his return.

No one can question that the Brazilian is our best technical player by miles, and there will be many interested clubs watching on.

That is our only concern as he shines with the likes of Neymar on his side, will this make him want to leave Elland Road?

We hope not, and although he has admitted his love for Leeds already this season, money and big moves can turn a players head quite easily.

Let’s just enjoy the success of our very own for now, what a night it was for both the Whites and Raphinha – he deserves every piece of success.
