Jim White reacts instantly as Leeds United potential PSR breach emerges

Jim White has reacted to news that Leeds United could be at risk of failing profit and sustainability rules for the 2023/24 season.

According to a tweet by SLBSN, there are currently eight teams who are close to falling outside the limits of PSR rules that could make them eligible for punishment and the Whites are one of them.

That could see the club suffer a point deduction if they are promoted to the top flight for next season, and talkSPORT host White took to his own personal Twitter account (5 March) to react to the news.

“Interesting times ahead,” he said, along with a money emoji.

Will Leeds United be in FFP trouble?

Financially Leeds are expected to be in a really good place, so it seems farfetched that the club could be at risk of a PSR breach.

The most recent transfer windows for this season have seen the club clear the massive wages off the books with several loan deals, while minimal cash has been spent to bolster the squad.

According to Leeds-Live the club are able to make a £50m loss this year without suffering any blowback from FFP and PSR charges, but it’s not impossible.

Ultimately the 49ers seem to have a great handling of the situation and the financial state of the club is healthy. Obviously promotion back to the Premier League will only help that too.

It would take something quite remarkable for the club to get promoted and still fail to adhere to PSR regulations, so Whites fans can relax on this one.
