Jesse Marsch thrilled by Leeds United talent Crysencio Summerville for what he did this week

Jesse Marsch has been left heavily impressed with Leeds United talent Crysencio Summerville in training this week.

The 21-year-old attacker scored the winning goal against Liverpool in the previous game and it lifted the pressure off Marsch after a wretched run of form.

Marsch spent time with him this week in training and he was very impressed with the youngster’s progress.

“A big factor for him is discipline and professionalism and work ethic. I’ve been on top of him again this week to make sure that he has a very good training week and he has, he’s looked really good. And we’re hopeful that he can establish himself more and more,” Marsch said as quoted by the Yorkshire Evening Post.

Huge talent

That goal from Summerville could be huge for Leeds this season.

Until that point, it felt bleak and gloomy for the Whites. The fans chanted Marcelo Bielsa’s name and they vented their frustration against Leicester City.

Jesse Marsch was under pressure to save his job, although the Leeds board backed him publicly.

It needed a strong performance to lift the mood around the club, and the victory against the Reds has given them a new belief.

It is important for the club to get another win and maintain good momentum. At home, against Bournemouth, Leeds should aim to pick all three points.

The important thing is not to concede an early goal. They have to defend well against set-pieces, and ensure they don’t make individual errors at the back.

They have a tough run of fixtures ahead of them, so a win here is necessary. Summerville is likely to retain his place in the squad, and he will be in full confidence after what his boss said ahead of the game.

In other Leeds United news, a European club has confirmed they’ll be doing an official farewell for a player who’s been signed by the Whites.
