Jesse Marsch shares what he can tell everyone about Brenden Aaronson after Leeds United links

Jesse Marsch has namedropped RB Salzburg star Brenden Aaronson in his latest Leeds United press conference.

The Whites have been strongly linked with the American and Marsch admitted that he believes he is a “great player” having worked together before.

Florian Plettenberg has already reported that Leeds are the favourites to sign Aaronson in the summer after failing in January.

Speaking in his press conference today [31 March], Marsch brought up Aaronson without any pressing questions.

“I can tell you, the whole talk with Brenden Aaronson,” he said.

“This all happened before I even came, I know Brenden, I’ve coached him. He’s American and I think he’s a great player, but even when it came to Salzburg, they knew about him and came to me before he even came.

“We worked together to think if he was the right player for us, that’s how I like to work.”

Heaven.

This is a match made in heaven.

Who would have thought in January that after bidding for Aaronson, we would continue with our interest and now have Marsch, a former manager of his in charge?

That is now a reality, and Aaronson will surely want that move to Elland Road and the Premier League even more now.

Having those connections are vital, and Marsch knowing everyone at RB Salzburg will be critical, especially with the Austrian side producing some of the best talents in Europe in recent years.

This summer is going to be interesting, to say the least, our first transfer window without Marcelo Bielsa.

Will things change? Let’s hope that Aaronson is one of those through the door.
