Jesse Marsch cut his holiday short to welcome new Leeds United signing Rasmus Kristensen to Elland Road
Leeds United boss Jesse Marsch cut his holiday short to welcome new signing Rasmus Kristensen to Elland Road, as revealed by Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Joe Donnohue.
The Whites confirmed the signing of the RB Salzburg right-back on a five-year deal on Wednesday [8 June] after fighting off stiff competition for the Denmark international’s signature.
It has been revealed by the Yorkshire Evening Post journalist that Marsch cut his holiday short to welcome his former player to Elland Road.
Writing on his personal Twitter account, Donnohue said: “Jesse Marsch cut short his holiday to welcome Kristensen at Elland Road, while the player admits he ‘got permission from ex-Salzburg teammate Brenden Aaronson to sign for the club – tongue-in-cheek of course.
“Some great Ivan Drago ‘if he dies, he dies’ vibes about him, too.”

It has been a perfect start to the summer for Leeds United and Marsch.
The club needed a lift after narrowly avoiding relegation on the last day of the season and the addition of the two RB Salzburg players will provide hope that Leeds won’t be in a relegation battle next season.
It is good to see that Marsch has been given complete backing from the club hierarchy as he looks to really put his stamp on proceedings at Elland Road.
It is crucial that the club give Marsch time to really grow a cohesive and consistent unit and not pull the trigger if things don’t go to plan straight away.
Leeds fans will be excited to see what the Danish right back can do after amassing some of the most impressive attacking statistics in Austria last season, despite being a defender.
It is good that Leeds are getting their business done early, with the American now having the whole summer to work with his new signings.
If their early business is anything to go by, the Elland Road faithful could potentially start to get excited for the start of the 2022-23 campaign.
