Bordeaux Alberth Elis 'attracting' interest from Leeds United
Bordeaux forward Alberth Elis is attracting interest from Leeds United ahead of the summer transfer window, as revealed by L’Equipe.
The French news outlet revealed on Wednesday [8 June] that the 26-year-old Honduran international is wanted at Elland Road with Jesse Marsch keen to continue his excellent early business.
The right-sided attacker, who also plays up front, scored nine goals and supplied one assist for Bordeaux in 20 appearances in the 2021-22 Ligue 1 campaign.
L’Equipe add that Bordeaux expect to sell Elis this summer and strongly suggest that Leeds have approached them about a deal.
Marsch isn’t messing around
The Leeds boss is certainly not messing around when it comes to his summer business.
Brenden Aaronson has already come through the door at Elland Road and Leeds are set to announce Rasmus Kristensen as revealed by the Guardian’s Fabrizio Romano on his personal Twitter account[8 June].
It is good that the Whites are being consistently linked to an array of players as they can ill-afford a repeat of their 2021-22 season.
Marsch is really trying to implement his ethos at Elland Road with the American clearly favouring players that he has already worked with.
Leeds are clearly keen to get their business done early to avoid any last-minute business from being completed.
The Whites are evidently backing the American this summer with Marsch having to work with what he was left with to keep Leeds in the Premier League last season.
With the backing he is receiving, he will be expected to deliver quickly was the 2022-23 season has got underway.
If things don’t go to plan initially, the club hierarchy should be patient with the American as consistently chopping and changing managers ultimately doesn’t bring long-term success.
