Jesse Marsch confirms Leeds United transfer interest in Wolves attacker Hwang Hee-chan
Leeds United boss Jesse Marsch has gone on record to state that the club are coveting the services of Wolves attacker Hwang Hee-chan.
The South Korean international has been linked with a move to Elland Road in the last few days and the American has confirmed the club’s interest in the player.
Marsch worked with the 26-year-old at RB Leipzig as well as Red Bull Salzburg and is eyeing a reunion with him ahead of the transfer deadline.
After the 1-1 draw against Everton, Independent quoted Marsch as saying, “We’ve been active and we’re trying everything we can and we’ll see how it plays out here over the next 24 hours or so.
“I know Hee-chan very well. I like Hee-chan, he knows our football. He’s on our list, I can tell you that.”
Managers usually do not get into specifics in terms of which player they’re fancying but it looks like Marsch is one who likes being frank about it.
He even spoke about the Charles De Ketelaere pursuit and how difficult it seemed at the time before he eventually move to AC Milan.
However, there does seem to be some confidence in the Hwang deal and he’s a player we would like to see at Elland Road.
Especially after Rodrigo’s injury, the need for someone to lead the line has only amplified and the South Korean would be ideal.
He can play all across the front three and we cannot wait to see how he’ll fare in this fluid Leeds attack comprising of Brenden Aaronson and Jack Harrison.
Hopefully, with Sasa Kalajdzic likely to join Wolves, they are forced into cashing in on Hwang and that’ll be a major benefit for Leeds who may just table a bid for the player in the coming hours.
