Jermaine Jenas delivers ecstatic two-word verdict on Nottingham Forest win v Leeds
It’s easy to get swept up in the Leeds United bubble and reflect on everything negative that occurs to the team as the worst thing in the world.
That’s what life is like as a fan of the Yorkshire giants: all-encompassing. However, there are those who are not so Leeds-centric.
Although plenty of neutrals appear to want Marcelo Bielsa’s side back in the Premier League, some are less enthusiastic.
Either way, the Whites’ 2-0 defeat to promotion rivals Nottingham Forest on Saturday was bound to elicit a reaction from the masses.
The Forest supporters were obviously delighted with a result that moved them to within touching distance of their opponents in the automatic promotion spots.
They were good value for it, too, because Leeds simply weren’t good enough at the City Ground.
Former Forest midfielder and BBC Sport pundit Jermaine Jenas was one of those fans of Sabri Lamouchi’s side who was ecstatic at the final whistle.
“Massive result,” was his emphatic two-word verdict on his personal Twitter account after the game.
Jenas, as a former Red, was obviously thrilled that his side were able to claim a terrific victory over one of the finest teams in the second tier.
For Leeds, though, there was nothing to celebrate. Bielsa’s men were outmatched and outgunned, they had no answer for the hosts.
Whether this team, in such a woeful run of form, are capable of coming back and winning at Brentford on Tuesday night, is very much up in the air at the moment.
For Jenas, though, he will have enjoyed the Saturday evening offering his team put together.
In other Leeds United news, a former Whites defender has claimed that Bielsa may axe a struggling star on Tuesday.
