MOT View: Sky Sports pundit gets it all wrong, no way Bielsa will drop struggling Leeds star
Leeds United goalkeeper Kiko Casilla struggled yet again in his team’s 2-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest on Saturday, continuing a dispiriting trend for him.
The former Real Madrid man enjoyed a terrific first half of the season, rewarding Marcelo Bielsa’s faith and proving his doubters wrong.
However, in recent weeks the Spaniard has began to look shakier and shakier, and the team’s form has gone downhill with him.
He made another blunder against Forest, somehow failing to keep out Sammy Ameobi’s fairy straightforward effort on goal.
Now, Sky Sports pundit and former Whites defender Danny Mills feels that Bielsa may even drop the axe on the 33-year-old against Brentford on Tuesday.
“I think he’s now made a couple of mistakes, starting last week against Wigan, the communication for the cross, whatever it was, was disappointing,” he told Football Insider.

“Today the first goal, getting beat at his near post, is positional, his positional sense is not great. He’s not in a very good position and that’s why he gets caught out.
“[Is confidence an issue?] Quite possibly, and you know that’s a worry. The manager might have a decision to make as to whether he brings someone else into the side or not.”
You can see why Mills would say such a thing, but it seems like there’s no way that Bielsa will drop Casilla.
We know how loyal he is, we’ve seen that time and time again with Patrick Bamford this campaign, and so it will likely take a lot more than this to convince him to cast the Spaniard aside.
Illan Meslier put in a quality performance against Arsenal last month, but he’s still only 19 years of age. It’s hard to see Bielsa transitioning to him amid a promotion chase.
So while Casilla may in fact deserve to be dropped heading into the Bees clash, it’s simply too difficult to see Bielsa doing it.
In other Leeds United news, Bielsa refused to answer one specific question after Saturday’s defeat.
