'It's like a joke' - Bielsa refuses to answer one question after Leeds defeat on Saturday
Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa had every reason to be grumpy after his team were beaten yet again against Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
The 2-0 reverse at the City Ground made it four defeats out of the Whites’ last five Championship games.
That is simply woeful form, and it’s allowed the likes of Fulham, Forest and Brentford to close in on the Yorkshire giants.
So he won’t have been in a good mood leaving Nottingham on Saturday. He’ll know that he needs to find an answer for his team double quick.
However, he failed to provide one when quizzed on one particular subject by journalists at the City Ground.
The Whites boss was asked to specify what the ‘major difficulties’ for his team that he’d mentioned in a previous answer were.
His response was a withering one.
“It’s a question I have answered every time and if I respond to that I will repeat the same argument,” he said, as per Leeds Live. “If I insist on explaining that it’s like a joke.”
You’d probably be a bit irritable, as well, if your team had just lost another game amid an atrocious run of form.
What are the difficulties for Leeds right now, though? Kalvin Phillips was obviously suspended for the Forest clash.
Meanwhile, Barry Douglas was injured and new signing Jean-Kevin Augustin was seemingly only capable of coming off the bench.
But this is a squad and a manager who should be capable of battling through this sort of adversity. You won’t claim promotion if you can’t do that.
