talkSPORT pundit implores Bielsa to play Leeds duo as he claims Argentine has no 'plan b'

Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa is hugely respected by everyone in the world of football, but that doesn’t mean he’s immune from criticism.

He does make mistakes, just like anybody else, and it’s fair to say that he has made a few in recent weeks.

His team have lost four of their last five Championship games after Saturday’s 2-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest.

So it’s clear that there’s something he’s not quite doing right at this moment in time. That’s not a controversial thing to say.

Former Whites star Danny Mills believes that the manager’s reluctance to utilise new signings Ian Poveda and Jean-Kevin Augustin has been a factor recently.

“My frustrations at Leeds are they’ve brought in two forward players before the last game, one wasn’t on the bench and Poveda was, but Biesla didn’t put him on,” he told talkSPORT.

“Leeds had 20 shots against Wigan, they dominated the game, but sometimes they lack a clinical edge and that is the big worry.

“Patrick Bamford has scored something like 12 goals and he works incredibly hard for the team, but he misses so many chances.

“The frustrations at Leeds are you bring in two players and Bielsa says they’re not quite up to speed, they’re not quite ready, but do you really need to be100 per cent fit to play to play 15 or 20 minutes at the end of a game?

“The concern and worry for Leeds fans is there is no plan b at times and he’s not going to use these players that he’s brought in.”

Mills got his wish against Forest when January signing Jean-Kevin Augustin came off the substitute’s bench, but Poveda is still yet to feature.

When you buy players in the middle of the season it’s because you want them to make an instant impact. In this case, to help the Whites seal promotion back to the Premier League.

Yet it appears that Bielsa thinks that neither man is really fit to even come off the bench – until Saturday, at least.

That’s just bizarre, and you can see why the accusation of not having a plan b is now being levelled at Bielsa.

In other Leeds United news, the club are surely missing a crocked player after one man’s struggles v Forest.
