Jermaine Beckford sends heart-warming message to Marcelo Bielsa on behalf of Leeds fans
Former Leeds striker Jermaine Beckford has sent Marcelo Bielsa a heartfelt thank you message live on BT Sport after he was sacked last week.
The Whites parted ways with the Argentine after three-and-a-half-years in charge following a ninth defeat in 12 Premier League games to Tottenham at the weekend.
American coach Jesse Marsch has now stepped into the role of manager with the task of keeping them in the Premier League, but Elland Road legend Beckford was live on BT Sport as a pundit [March 5, 11:47am] when he wanted to send one last message to the former boss.
“He bought the ability to dream big and believe in those dreams,” he said.
“That’s something that Leeds United fans will forever be grateful for. So, you know, thank you for the good times Marcelo.”
Bielsa helped take the club from the Championship up to the Premier League for the first time in 17 years and helped them finish ninth last season.

Legend
From one legend to another, that was just a lovely thing to see from Beckford.
It was a Leeds man through and through, passing on the message from all Leeds fans towards the man that will go down in history as a legendary figure at the club for all he did.
While it didn’t ultimately end up the way everyone wanted it to at Elland Road, fans are devastated about it and the new boss is arguably under more pressure already than he ever was.
It was a heart-warming message and perfectly summed up the feeling of the mood around the club right now.
But now it’s time for the Whites to move on to the next chapter of their footballing story and get behind Marsch, because he needs it if he is to guide this great club to safety.
