Jermaine Beckford reacts to Leeds United second-half reaction v Man Utd
Leeds United suffered a 4-2 defeat against rivals Manchester United in a pulsating thriller on Sunday [20 February].
The game, played in front of fans in the Premier League at Elland Road for the first time since October 2003, produced a spectacle in front of an electrifying atmosphere.
United took a 2-0 lead in the first half, but the momentum shifted drastically in the second half when two quick goals from Leeds turned the game around.
Jermaine Beckford was impressed with the reaction from Marcelo Bielsa’s side. However, Leeds couldn’t hold on and ended up conceding two more.
Speaking on the BBC Football Daily, Beckford said: “Coming out in the second half, right at the beginning, to score two goals, I think within a minute, was an excellent reaction.
“Probably one of the best reactions any manager could have hoped for especially against a team that are fighting for the Champions League spot.”

Typical Leeds
Elland Road witnessed another pulsating thriller but the defeat only adds to the pressure mounting on the Argentine.
Bielsa’s side are entertaining to watch, we all know that, but time and again, they are showing signs of naivety. It has reached a point where one has to question – will they ever learn?
The gung-ho style of football earns them plaudits but the Whites showed their defensive frailties yet again. They simply just don’t know how to end the game when being on top.
Countless individual errors have been a feature of this season for Leeds, and in such a big game, Illan Meslier came up with a shocking error for the second goal.
On one hand, we saw the typical attacking qualities that have made Leeds one of the exciting teams to watch, on the other, they continue to leave themselves exposed and get punished on a regular basis.
They are five points off the relegation places and face Liverpool up next.
