Jermaine Beckford raves about Leeds United midfielder Adam Forshaw
Jermaine Beckford has showered heaps of praise on Adam Forshaw after Leeds United secured a 1-0 victory against Crystal Palace on Tuesday night at Elland Road in the Premier League.
Raphinha scored from the spot in the extra time to secure only the third win over the Whites this season.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side jumped to 15th in the Premier League with the win.
Beckford has praised both Raphinha and Forshaw in his tweet after the game. The former Leeds striker was heavily impressed with Forshaw’s fitness after he returned from injury.
He wrote on Twitter: “Raphinha has been immense tonight but Adam Forshaw was excellent. Can’t believe he’s been out for as long as he has been and he looks as accomplished and fit as anyone! Top performance from all of the guys tonight.”
The 30-year-old has been outstanding since returning to the side after overcoming his long battle with injuries.
He has started in the last four games, and was simply brilliant against the Eagles.
Smart in possession and crisp with his passing Forshaw controlled the midfield with so much grace and quality.
He made tackles, won ariel duels, made interceptions, and his tireless work rate adds that extra bite in midfield that Bielsa was desperately missing.
The midfield is one area where Leeds probably need reinforcement in January, but Forshaw is already giving the impression that he is like a new signing for the club.
If he stays fit and plays at this level, Leeds should stay clear of the relegation threat.
After a frustrating spell of two years out of action through a series of injuries, Forshaw looks fitter and sharper. Surely he will be aiming for a long run in the side now till the end of the season.
