Jeff Stelling and Neil Mellor predict result of Leeds United clash v Burnley

Jeff Stelling has backed Leeds United to start 2022 with a bang in their Premier League clash against Burnley on Sunday.

The Whites welcome the Clarets to Elland Road in a huge clash which could have a big say on those relegation places come to the end of the season.

Three points would give Leeds an even bigger gap to the bottom three, and Stelling has predicted they will get just that with a 1-0 win.

Sharing his prediction for Sky Sports on their Super 6 platform, the popular Soccer Saturday host backed the Whites.

Neil Mellor also predicts the games alongside Stelling each week, and he has disagreed, going the other way.

The small-name Sky pundit has predicted that it will finish 2-1 to Burnley at Elland Road in what promises to be a nervy afternoon for all.

Bring it on.

This is a huge afternoon for the Whites.

After a dreadful December with more than half of the squad missing, Marcelo Bielsa will hopefully welcome back some big names on Sunday.

Patrick Bamford could be one of those and his goals have been desperately missed over the past three months barring that Brentford draw.

Burnley are currently five points behind the Whites with two games-in-hand, so three points would push that gap to eight – something that would be massively benefitial.

We are confident of three points, but Sean Dyche will set up his side to be hard to break down and beat, so the lads must be up for that battle.

Time to kick on in 2022 and silence every last one of those critics from the past couple of months, starting here.
