Jeff Stelling and Neil Mellor predict Leeds United clash v Southampton

Jeff Stelling and Neil Mellor both predict Leeds United and Southampton to draw when they meet at St Mary’s on Saturday.

Leeds earned their first win of the Premier League season before the international break when they beat Watford but are likely to be without in-form Raphinha on the south coast this weekend.

Southampton are yet to win but in their predictions on the Super 6 website, Sky Sports host Stelling and pundit Mellor have both said it’ll be a 1-1 draw between the Whites and the Saints.

Huge match

Leeds have a massive opportunity to move themselves away from the relegation zone this weekend.

Southampton have had an awful start to the season and are one of four teams yet to win in the opening seven fixtures.

As it stands, they are 17th and just one point clear of the bottom three while Leeds are only one place better off in 16th.

Marcelo Bielsa’s men will no doubt be buoyed by that win over Watford prior to the international break so the Whites need to carry that momentum over into their trip to St Mary’s on Saturday.

Unfortunately, the chances of Raphinha missing out are high with the in-form winger set to play for Brazil in the early hours of Friday morning.

It’s a joke of a situation but we can’t reasonably expect him to be back in time to play this weekend.

It’s a good job we signed Daniel James in the summer because without him, it would be someone like Tyler Roberts or youngster Crysencio Summerville coming in to play on the wing.

We can win this game. Southampton are missing some important players like James Ward-Prowse.

Let’s hope Stelling and Mellor are wrong and we get all three points on the south coast.
