Jeff Stelling and Neil Mellor predict Leeds United clash v Newcastle

Jeff Stelling has backed Leeds United to make it three Premier League wins on the bounce against Newcastle on Saturday.

The Sky Sports host has predicted that it will finish 2-1 to the Whites at Elland Road after huge wins over West Ham and Burnley.

Marcelo Bielsa has more injury problems to contend with as Adam Forshaw, Junior Firpo and Patrick Bamford all look set to miss out.

Stelling shared his prediction on Sky Sports’ Super 6, with a tight affair expected in West Yorkshire.

Neil Mellor also made his prediction, going for the same score with Newcastle’s signings not expecting to make a difference.

“Leeds had only nine senior players after Adam Forshaw and Junior Firpo came off injured at West Ham,” he wrote.

“That said, they beat the fourth-placed side 3-2 to earn a valuable three points. They face a Newcastle team bolstered by the signings of Kieran Trippier and Chris Wood, yet they have not got off to the best of starts with results. This will continue as Leeds take the points at Elland Road.”

So, it looks like more of the same for Leeds.

With Diego Llorente returning from suspension, Firpo should be covered and the same goes with Rodrigo likely taking the spot of Forshaw.

That means it could be a more attacking lineup than the one at West Ham, which is perfect given the defensive struggles of the Magpies.

Newcastle have made signings, but they’ve been less than inspiring for Eddie Howe, who is struggling to pick up results at this moment in time.

Let’s hope we pile on that misery and take another huge step away from relegation ahead of the small planned break ahead.
