Javi Gracia shares Willy Gnonto and Max Wober injury updates – Confirmed Leeds United team news v Nottingham Forest

Javi Gracia has addressed the media ahead of his Leeds United side hosting relegation rivals Nottingham Forest at Elland Road in the Premier League.

The Spaniard was non-committal on the fitness of Willy Gnonto and Max Wober after both picked up injuries in the recent international break and missed Saturdays trip to Arsenal in the Premier League.

Via his personal Twitter account The Athletic’s Phil Hay quoted Gracia from his pre-match press conference, with the Leeds manager neither confirming nor denying whether the pair would be fit for the relegation showdown on Tuesday night (4 April).

He wrote: “Gracia keeping schtum on Wober and Gnonto chances of featuring against Forest.

“‘Maybe we will have different options for tomorrow but we need to prepare with the players we have.'”

Must win

The trip to the Emirates Stadium last weekend was never going to define Leeds United’s season, but the home game against Nottingham Forest could well do.

The Elland Road faithful are in store for a proper Premier League six-pointer on Tuesday, with both teams looking to pull clear of the relegation zone with a huge three points.

Gracia will know that Nottingham Forest will come into the encounter low on confidence following a run of seven Premier League games without a win.

Furthermore, Steve Cooper’s side have only managed to score four goals away from home this season while conceding a hefty 32 times – a stat that will prick the ears of every Leeds United supporter.

Combining these factors with the admirable performance against the Gunners on Saturday should hopefully be enough for Gracia’s side to get over the line and really kickstart their fight for survival.

Lose on the other hand, and the brewing storm around Elland Road might get that bit murkier.

In other Leeds United news, the club are ready to offer a new contract to one first-team star whose deal is up in 2024.
