Jason Cundy slams Leeds United despite 1-0 win v Crystal Palace
Jason Cundy was not pleased with what he saw from Leeds United on Tuesday night, blasting them for being dull despite the 1-0 win over Crystal Palace.
Raphinha’s 93rd-minute penalty gave the Whites all three points at Elland Road yesterday (30 November), helping them secure their third win of the campaign, but the talkSPORT pundit was far from impressed while reacting on-air to the victory.
The win saw Marcelo Bielsa’s side move up to 15th in the Premier League table, and they will need to pick up more points heading into the second half of the campaign to steer further away from the relegation zone.
Cundy said (as shared on talkSPORT’s Twitter account): “Dull. What’s happened to Leeds? Leeds, whatever you thought of Leeds last season… Defensively, I was always very critical because they just conceded too many, loved to go forward.
“Whatever you thought of them, you could not deny their games were ‘oh my god’. Look at them. Still dull. If they miss. If he misses that penalty, does it make it exciting? They’re a boring team compared to last season!”

The Elland Road outfit were everyone’s second team in the Premier League last term, blowing all and sundry away with their brand of swashbuckling football.
That is yet to happen 14 games into 2021-22, and while some of their key players have sustained injuries at various points in the campaign, it cannot be denied that this team are a shadow of what we all saw last season.
They do manage to show flashes of their old selves every now and then, but it is not enough to mask the fact that all is not well.
The Palace win has come at the right time, though, as they face four of the current top-five after Sunday’s (5 December) game against Brentford, and Leeds need to use it as fuel for their low morale going forward.
Another win at the expense of the Bees would be huge, and even if they fail to excite the neutrals as they did last season, they will be forgiven as long as they keep getting the needed points on board.
In other Leeds United news, a major update on Whites’ January bid to sign attacker has been provided, with pen-to-paper imminent.
