James Maddison sends message to Manor Solomon after Leeds United win v Hull City

James Maddison has sent a message to Manor Solomon after his Leeds United debut against Hull City on Saturday (31 August).

The 25-year-old Israeli international joined Leeds on a season-long loan during the summer transfer window, being thrown straight into the starting lineup in front of the Elland Road crowd.

Solomon took the opportunity in his stride, thriving under the pressure, delivering a fantastic cross for Mateo Joseph’s opener in a 2-0 win over the Tigers.

Reacting to Solomon’s Instagram post on Saturday (31 August), Maddison wrote: “Love it mate, well done,” with a clapping emoji.

If the Spurs loanee’s debut is anything to go by, Leeds are set to have a very exciting player on their hands for the duration of the 2024/25 campaign.

He set up Joseph’s near-post goal before Joel Piroe entered the field as a substitute to cement the three points against fellow promotion hopefuls, claiming their second league victory of the campaign.

Daniel Farke has lost both Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter during the summer, with the hierarchy at Elland Road only making additions in the final few days of the transfer window.

With Dan James now suffering an injury, the deal for Solomon looks more important than ever, and it may be difficult for the Welshman to break back into the starting XI if the loanee continues his early form.

Farke needs all of his attackers to be firing on all cylinders if Leeds are to secure promotion to the Premier League this season, having narrowly missed out on the feat last term.

Solomon has had limited chances to prove himself in North London, but if the fans can take any early signs, they are certainly positive ones at Elland Road.
