Italian outlet share major update on Leeds pursuit of South American
Leeds United have made a number of sensational moves to bring international-level players to Elland Road in this window.
The latest of those to arrive in West Yorkshire could be Bayern Munich’s Michael Cuisance, who is set to sign a five-year deal with the Premier League side.
Sensationally, the Whites may not be done there – with Juventus winger Douglas Costa also being linked with Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
Italian outlet Alfredo Pedulla have reported those links, with Manchester United and Wolves also interested in a switch.
It is suggested on their website that the Leeds interest has gone “cold” already, with agent Jorge Mendes dealing with the so-called affairs.
Costa is not deemed untouchable by Juventus, although they would need an offer of close to the £41.8million they paid for him in order to sanction his exit.
Given that Juventus want a fee close to that, it was never likely that this deal would have taken place anyway.
With Wolves not tickling the fancy of Costa either, the Bielsa effect would have been massive should he have moved to Elland Road instead.
Leeds are much more likely to go for someone such as Norwich City’s Todd Cantwell, who could be available at a cheaper price given their relegation.
TalkSPORT reported that the Whites could look to seal a deal for the 22-year-old after signing Cuisance – a double deal that would seal the perfect transfer window this week.
