Injury expert shares Leeds United update ahead of Nottingham Forest Premier League clash

Leeds United are set to be without five players for their Premier League clash against Nottingham Forest on Tuesday, according to injury expert, Ben Dinnery.

Dinnery has suggested (Premier injuries website) that Willy Gnonto is likely to miss the game against Steve Cooper’s side after sustaining an ankle injury whilst on national team duty with Italy.

Max Wober has also been “ruled out” with a hamstring issue he picked up whilst representing Austria. Stuart Dallas and Tyler Adams are long-term absentees and won’t feature against Forest and Adam Forshaw will also miss the Elland Road clash.

Blow

This is a big blow for the Whites. Gnonto in particular gives Leeds a direct threat and Javi Gracia will be hoping the Italian can return to action as soon as possible.

The upcoming fixtures against Forest and Crystal Palace are of paramount importance. Two wins would put Leeds in an excellent position to secure their Premier League status. Due to the number of clubs entrenched in the relegation battle, a consistent run of performances and wins could see the Yorkshire side well clear of trouble.

However, apart from a promising start to the season, Gracia’s men have been dreadfully inconsistent for large swathes of the 2022/23 campaign.

Now would certainly be the ideal time to put back-to-back wins together.

With Gnonto set to be unavailable, the likes of Jack Harrison and Crysencio Summerville must step up and provide Leeds with an attacking threat. Harrison has been impressive since the sacking of Jesse Marsch and could be vital over the course of the next week.

This is a huge game.
