Sky Sports have shared an update on the future of Leeds United striker Ryan Edmondson after the 19-year-old’s loan spell at Aberdeen ended.
The forward struggled for regular game time at the Dons despite making 14 Scottish Premiership appearances in the first half of the season.
Edmondson only started three league games during the first few months of the season but there are still plenty of clubs reportedly interested in his services.
Speaking on Sky Sports’ Transfer Talk programme, Keveh Solhekol gave an encouraging update Edmondson’s future.
He said, “Leeds striker Ryan Edmondson should have his future resolved this week. Clubs in League One, League Two and Scotland are interested.”
There seems to be an expectation that Edmondson will immediately be loaned out again to continue his promising development away from Elland Road.
After not playing as much as he may have expected while north of the border, it would be ideal for Leeds to find a club where Edmondson can be the main man in an attack.
Despite his limited game time with Aberdeen, the 19-year-old managed to score two goals and register two assists which makes you wonder what he could have achieved with more starts.
A move to a club in League One or League Two could be more beneficial than sending him back to Scotland as it will give him a better taste of the football he can expect next season should he stay at Elland Road.
We all want to see the club’s best young players getting plenty of game time as they continue their development and that should also be the main concern for Whites bosses.
With Edmondson seemingly in demand, Leeds should be able to find a club that can accommodate the forward in an effective way.
At the very least he needs to be getting more chances than he was given while in Scotland.
