Leeds United fan and Kaiser Chiefs bass player Simon Rix believes that the Whites will be unstoppable once Premier League safety is secured.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side are winless and goalless in 2021 and despite the first half the season proving to be a success, the club is not safe from relegation.

Recent performances have been concerning but Rix, speaking in a Yorkshire Evening Post column, claimed that once survival is secured Leeds will be back to their best.

He said, “I’m positive. We may be 12th, but we are easily 12th. We’re closer to Europe than relegation and we’ve done most of it with a patched-up defence.

“The good news is that in the games that we have managed to put out our strongest back five we are unbeaten.

“I think we are set for staying up, and once the pressure is off, I think we’ll be unstoppable to be honest.”

Bielsa’s men have a fantastic opportunity to get back to winning ways when they travel to St James’ Park to play Newcastle next week.

The Magpies are bottom of the Premier League form table and after putting five past Steve Bruce’s men earlier this season, we have a great chance to make up for our poor form in front of goal this year.

However, should we fail to beat this poor Newcastle side then serious questions need to be asked of the squad.

These questions must’ve been asked following the losses to Crawley and Brighton but another failure to win on Tyneside would make matters significantly worse.

There are plenty of clubs below Leeds who are more likely to go down and there are few Whites fans who are genuinely concerned about going down.

We hope that Bielsa can find a way to make us unstoppable before our top-flight status is secured as we need to get back to winning ways as soon as possible.

In other Leeds United news, some fans of an EFL club are furious that a Leeds loanee has been dropped for this weekend’s games.
