‘I’ll be ready’ – Leeds first teamer delivers ‘brilliant’ injury update
Adam Forshaw has revealed that he will be back in full training with his Leeds United teammates in “two, three weeks”.
The midfielder has been sidelined since September with a hip complaint, and has been limited to just seven Championship appearances this season.
Prior to his absence, he had been a key part of Marcelo Bielsa’s side, making 30 league outings last season.
And now the 28-year-old has claimed that he is on the verge of taking the next step in his recovery.
Speaking to LUTV, when asked about how his comeback was progressing, he said: “Brilliant, really well.
“I’m probably two, three weeks away from being in full training with the team.
“Unfortunately I’m going to miss the end of the season but in the grand scheme of things, I’ll be ready to go with the team for the first day of pre-season if everything goes well.”
This really is a wonderful update from Forshaw.
The midfielder is such an important part of Leeds’ setup, and it’s been a real shame that he hasn’t been able to play a much greater role in our promotion push this term.
When he is fit and firing, he brings a fantastic presence to the engine room, and his average pass completion rate of 91.6% is 7.2% higher than Kalvin Phillips’ this season, as per Wyscout.
He also has a dribble success rate that is 4% higher, and a higher total action success rate.
Of course, we’ve managed okay in his absence, but having Forshaw back at our disposal will be a source of massive relief to both Marcelo Bielsa and fans alike.
Let’s just hope that he gets to make his grand comeback in a Premier League clash next term.
