Ian Wright sends Twitter message to Leeds player after 1-1 v Preston
Ian Wright has sent a message to Leeds United forward Eddie Nketiah after th striker came off the bench in Boxing Day’s 1-1 draw against Preston at Elland Road.
Nketiah, 20, has spent the season on loan at Leeds from Arsenal but is yet to start a Championship fixture and has made 15 appearances from the bench.
The England Under-21 international has seen his form dip since an injury ruled him out of almost all of November but he certainly rediscovered a bit of form on Thursday when he appeared in the second half against Preston.
Nketiah scored almost straight away after replacing Patrick Bamford when a well-directed header was saved by goalkeeper Declan Rudd.
After the match, Nketiah tweeted saying that it was a “hard-fought point” for the Whites and Arsenal legend Wright sent a reply on Friday morning.
“Immediate impact yesterday. All you can do,” said the former Gunners striker via his personal Twitter account.

It remains to be seen how long Nketiah will be a Leeds player for with a lot of speculation linking him with a return to Arsenal in January.
Arsenal have the option to recall the young forward and due to the fact he has not started a league fixture for Leeds, there is every chance they will do that and send him elsewhere for increased game-time.
What a lot of people are forgetting is that although Nketiah is not starting games, he is still playing regularly.
He is still playing a lot more for the Whites than he would do for any Premier League club and maybe even a few Championship clubs.
From Leeds’ point of views, it is best that he stays but you can understand why Arsenal would want to recall him.
