'Class' - Colin Murray raves about Leeds player who was 'close to man of the match' v Preston

EFL on Quest host Colin Murray has raved about Helder Costa for his display on Boxing Day as Leeds United drew 1-1 with Preston at Elland.

It was by no means a strong performance by the Whites as they left it to Stuart Dallas’ deflected goal late on to earn themselves a point against Alex Neil’s side.

However television host Murray was impressed by what he saw from Costa, 25, over the 90 minutes.

Costa has been in a mixed run of form lately and was not exactly a pick of the bunch among Leeds supporters after the game.

The on-loan Wolves winger did manage to impress Murray though.

“It was relentless and Helder Costa throughout the game, even in the first half, showed class,” said Murray on EFL on Quest on Thursday.

“He was close to man of the match for me.”

If you were going to pick a man of the match for Leeds United on Thursday night then it is likely that Ezgjan Alioski or Ben White would have been your pick. Or even Dallas considering he was the one who scored the equalising goal.

However Murray’s claim about Costa is a bit of an odd one because the Portuguese winger did not really stand out.

According to stats by WhoScored, Costa did not complete a single cross against North End and only completed two of the four dribbles he attempted.

He had 48 touches of the ball, which was fewer than any Leeds player that completed 90 minutes.

It was a quiet display by Costa but he still managed to impress someone, at least.
