Ian Wright: Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa could be next manager to leave in Premier League

Ian Wright is worried that Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa could be the next manager to leave their post in the Premier League.

El Loco has slightly turned things around at Elland Road, going into this international break without a defeat in three league games.

After Dean Smith was sacked by Aston Villa on Sunday, Wright insisted that Bielsa’s rolling contract could make his position at risk.

Speaking live to Premier League Productions this weekend, Wright shared his worry for the Whites in the coming months.

“You mention Leeds there and with Bielsa,” he said. “With the way they play, and you see what they are doing, I quite worry for Leeds, at the moment.

“With him continuing just signing his one-year contracts. He’s the kind of person that would just say ‘I will leave anyway’.

“We know he has got them through a period where we have seen Leeds do their really good stuff and do the bad stuff. Then intermediate stuff. If he signs a year deal, he’s fine because he’s in the driving seat.”

Worry?

No chance, it’s as simple as that.

Andrea Radrizzani made it very clear that Bielsa’s position is very stable this week when involved in conference calls.

Phil Hay backed those up by adding that it wasn’t even a vote of confidence from the owner, he was simply talking and shutting down those suggestions from others in the media.

Wright has a lot of time for Leeds, and the fans at Elland Road return that but making claims that like this regularly will soon start to ruffle some feathers.

Bielsa doesn’t worry about his own future until the season and his job is done, those are the facts, so there will be no worry or panic in West Yorkshire between now and May.
