Ian Wright: Kalvin Phillips does not want to play for Leeds United
Ian Wright does not believe Kalvin Phillips wants to stay at Leeds United despite reports suggesting he’s ready to sign a new deal.
The Arsenal legend is of the opinion that Phillips wants to win things and believes a number of clubs would be interested in his services this summer.
While he does not see an immediate exit on the cards, he sees it happening sooner rather than later.

He said on the Kelly & Wrighty Show, “A lot of big teams need a player in that position. He’s a sought after player.
“Phillips doesn’t strike me as a player who wants to play for Leeds. He wants to win things.
“Leeds need to start putting things in place where they’re challenging for Europe for the likes of him and Raphinha to stay but I think Raphinha will leave[this summer].”
Weird one
To say that Phillips does not want to play for Leeds seems to be an overstatement from Wright.
The Englishman is a Yorkshire lad and is already viewed by many as a future Elland Road legend.

He is one of the few people in the club’s history who can do no wrongs, so it’s weird to say he does not want to stay here.
He may look for an exit to win trophies but even if he doesn’t get his way, he’s not one to down tools and frown.
Hopefully, he puts pen to paper to a new deal so that stops people from making predictions about his future.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites are leading the race to complete a major signing and have already opened talks to seal a £25m deal.
