Ian Wright gushes over Jesse Marsch after Leeds United beat Chelsea in Premier League

Ian Wright was full of praise for Jesse Marsch as the American masterminded Leeds United to a 3-0 victory against Chelsea.

The Premier League is full of surprises and it provided its biggest one over the weekend when the Whites thrashed the Blues on Sunday.

Leeds were superior in every aspect from start to end and seldom gave the visitors even a sniff of a comeback on the afternoon.

Speaking on the Kelly and Wrighty Show, Wright said, “Brilliant result. Really good from Jesse Marsch. We know he’s part of the Red Bull high energy, high pressing.

“He’s not gonna play like Bielsa by man marking. They’re bypassing that midfield. Getting to the goal with pace.”

Few would have expected Leeds to turn up and completely demolish one of the title contenders in that manner.

Had the fans at Elland Road been offered a point before kick off, they would’ve definitely accepted it as none would have seen this coming.

Brenden Aaronson looked lively from start to end and it’s down to his understanding of Marsch’s system as to why he’s been such a prolific signing for the Whites.

Apart from him, Tyler Adams, another player who’s previously worked with the manager, had his best performance of the season.

These players do not seem like they’re playing with each other for the first few games as everyone seems to know their role perfectly.

There’s a real cohesion about this side and long may the good times continue for Marsch and Leeds.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites could make a final push for an international striker after he was left out of his side’s matchday squad over the weekend.
