Ian Poveda sentenced in court after Leeds United player pleaded guilty to driving offence
Ian Poveda has been sentenced in court after the Leeds United midfielder pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified in April 2022, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.
The newspaper reported on its website on Monday (9 October) that the 23-year-old was handed a six-month driving ban and a community order for 140 hours of unpaid work as well as being ordered to pay a victim surcharge and court costs.
But the Whites midfielder avoided being hit with a fine at the Manchester City Magistrates Court on Friday (October 6) for an offence that was committed while he was out on loan at Blackburn Rovers.

It won’t have come as too much of a surprise to Poveda to have been hit with a six-month driving ban after he pleaded guilty to the offence last month.
He made the serious error in judgement while he was out injured with a fracture and ligament damage on his left ankle during his loan spell with Blackburn.
The midfielder has probably been waiting for this day to come around after the offence was committed almost 18 months ago in April of last year.
Learning his fate will now allow Poveda to focus on his football as he looks to force his way into Daniel Farke’s plans for this season.
The German previously admitted that the court appearance wouldn’t impact on his availability for the Yorkshire club and he’ll be looking to move forward and help his side challenge from promotion during this campaign.
In other Leeds United news, Simon Jordan has raged at a “ridiculous” development that has emerged from the club.
