Ian Poveda back at Thorp Arch in Leeds United training gear after major injury blow
Ian Poveda is back at Leeds United as he begins his recovery from the significant injury he suffered while on loan at Blackburn Rovers last month (20 November).
Poveda, 21, broke his fibula and has sustained some ligament damage while playing for Blackburn against Bristol City and left the Championship side for treatment.
Posting via his personal Instagram story on Monday afternoon (13 December), Poveda has shared images of him back at Thorp Arch in Whites training gear.
“At least I can do something now,” Poveda wrote in the first post.
In the second, the winger can be seen doing some leg extension.

It may be a long way back for Poveda but he has already begun his bid to return to action as soon as possible.
Given the extent of the injury, it’s fair to assume his 2021/22 campaign is already over, or at least a significant proportion of it.
It’s a shame for the ex-Manchester City academy graduate after starting to impress at Blackburn, whom he joined on a season-long loan in August.
The game before suffering his injury, Poveda had scored his first goal for the club against Sheffield United and was hoping to cement his place in the starting XI for the promotion hopefuls.
Poveda will now get the best treatment possible at Leeds who will aim to nurse him back to full health ahead of next summer, where Poveda could be on the move again.
His future at Elland Road looked uncertain even before this injury so another loan, or potentially a permanent exit if a club takes a gamble, could be on the cards ahead of the 2022/23 season.
