Michael Owen has backed Leeds United and Crystal Palace to play out a draw in their Premier League clash on Monday evening.
The pundit has predicted that it will finish 1-1 at Elland Road, with both sides suffering from contrasting results in recent weeks.
Palace have won back-to-back games after failing to win any in their last four, with Leeds coming into this one on the back of the defeat against Everton.
Writing in his Bet Victor predictions column, Owen claimed that every Whites fan will be frustrated with their sides defending.
“Leeds are blowing so hot and cold just now, however, one thing that has been consistent for the Elland Road side this season is poor defending. As good as they are to watch from a neutral point of view, any Leeds fan will tell you how frustrating it has been,” he said.
“A great away win at Leicester was followed by defeat at Goodison Park midweek, and a trip to Crystal Palace is up next.
“Palace themselves haven’t been firing on all cylinders recently, which they’ll be disappointed with after a good start to their campaign.
“This one could be tight, and I wouldn’t be surprised at all if it ended all square.”
Leeds will be desperate to return to winning ways.
Marcelo Bielsa’s men were outstanding in defeat against Everton and deserved much more than they got against a team pushing for European football.
Palace have been handed the major blow that Wilfried Zaha will be missing for the trip to Elland Road, and that is a huge boost for Leeds who were torn apart by the Ivorian in the reverse fixture.
That 4-1 defeat was undeserved at Selhurst Park, and we’re hoping for revenge rather than the score-draw predicted by Owen this evening.
