Hibs manager issues transfer confirmation on Leeds United starlet Kris Moore
Hibs manager Nick Montgomery has issued a transfer confirmation as Leeds United defender Kris Moore is on trial at the Scottish club.
The 20-year-old, who’s been a regular for the under-21s side at Thorp Arch, played in the 5-1 defeat by Swiss outfit Servette this week.
Montgomery confirmed that the Scottish side are considering whether or not they want to sign him in January.

He said at 09:57 on the Daily Record daily updates: “Kris Moore, the young defender from Leeds, we’re having a look at him. I didn’t think we had enough bodies to come on the camp, so it was a good opportunity to have a look at him at right-back with Lewis Miller away and only really having young Rory otherwise, so it was good for him, and Kanayo, to get some minutes.”
On his way out?
At the end of the day, Moore holds the key to his future at Leeds and even if the club may express a desire to keep him, the likelihood of him breaking into the first team soon might be limited, considering the competitive nature of the squad.
The recent signing of a contract extension until the summer of 2025 reflects the Whites’ recognition of Moore’s potential and value to the club.
However, Moore will need to assess his own career ambitions and playing time expectations.

If he aspires to get regular first-team action and believes it might be challenging to achieve at Leeds in the immediate future, he could consider exploring other opportunities that offer more immediate playing opportunities.
The fact that Leeds secured him to a new contract also positions them to potentially recoup a decent transfer fee should they decide to sell him.
He’s not officially joined Hibs yet but if he does impress in the upcoming games on trial, they may look to sign him permanently this season.
In other Leeds United news, an international player linked with a move to Elland Road is unhappy at his current club and could be on his way out in the January transfer window.
