‘He’s still reeling’: Many Leeds fans hit back at ‘Delusional’, ‘Unrealistic’ rival player claim

Nottingham Forest player Matty Cash has warned Leeds United and West Brom that his side could still overtake the top-two clubs in the race for automatic promotion.

Before football was put on hold last month, Leeds were on a five-match winning run that put them top of the Championship table, one point ahead of second-placed Albion and seven points ahead of third-placed Fulham.

With nine matches to play, Forest are sat in fifth and are 11 points shy of the league-leading Whites.

Sabri Lamouchi’s side has done well this season but they are closer to 13th-placed QPR than they are to Leeds.

Forest defender Cash has now spoken about how he reckons the East Midlands outfit can overtake Leeds and West Brom, firing a warning to the two leading clubs.

“If you win five in a row and Leeds and West Brom lose a couple then you are right in the frame again,” he said, as quoted by the Yorkshire Evening Post.

“Play-offs would be a great achievement from where we’ve been before. We have been nowhere near in the four or five years I have been here. But if we keep winning games you never know.”

Leeds fan have, unsurprisingly, been laughing off Cash’s comments.

While we have no idea when football will be back on, we do know that Forest are very unlikely to be able to catch the Whites now.

The race for automatic promotion seems to be between Leeds, West Brom and Fulham.

We are very aware that anything can happen in the Championship but fans are super-confident that they do not need to worry about Cash’s Forest.
