Crystal Palace will be able to welcome back James McArthur for their Premier League game against Leeds United on Monday night.
BBC journalist Adam Pope previously reported that McArthur would be one of several faces missing for Palace but after a two-game absence, the 33-year-old could be thrown straight into the starting 11 on Monday.
Palace boss Roy Hodgson told the media that he would have no hesitation in using McArthur as the Eagles look to record back to back league wins.
Hodgson is quoted by Leeds Live as saying, “I think he’s ready.
“It’s like everything else. Amazingly enough, that’s the area of the field where competition has been fiercest because there have been five players looking to play in two positions.
“He’s more than ready and I’d have no hesitation in using him.”
The midfielder had only missed two league games this season before he suffered his recent knock and his return will no doubt be received as a boost by the Eagles.
Palace do still have injury troubles though as they failed to name a full bench for their recent win over Newcastle.
The Whites will be looking for revenge following the 4-1 loss at Selhurst Park earlier this season and if a win does come on Monday then the poor and inconsistent start to early 2021 will be quickly forgotten.
After being on the wrong end of a very good and competitive game against Everton, we need to perform as we did at Leicester and pick up a win.
McArthur’s return shouldn’t have too much of an impact on our game plan and we should still have enough to beat a poor Crystal Palace side.
