Jack Harrison has heaped praise on Ezgjan Alioski for the impact the Leeds United fringe player has had since the Championship season restarted.
Alioski, 28, has come off the bench in each of Leeds’ three games since play resumed and although he didn’t have the best of impacts versus Cardiff, he has scored and assisted off the bench in respective games against Fulham and Luton.
The North Macedonia international is well known for his energy, pace and ability to play in a number of positions.
And that is why Harrison has been gushing over the former Lugano star ahead of the clash against Blackburn on Saturday.
“He’s always energetic and he’s always running and causing problems for opponents,” said Harrison,” as quoted by the Yorkshire Evening Post.
“He’s a great addition for the side and a great source that we have. We know what he’s like as a player, he’s always going to go forward – he loves to attack and he provides that as an outlet for the side as well.
“He’s done brilliantly coming in the last two games and you can see as an audience watching the impact that he has on the game.
“It’s crucial for us as a side and it shows that every player in the starting 11 and on the bench is just as important as each other.”
Alioski is one of our favourite Leeds players.
Not only because he is an absolute character and makes us laugh every time we see him on camera but also because he is a brilliant impact player for the Whites.
Alioski has only started 18 of Leeds’ 38 Championship fixtures this season but has still been directly involved in nine goals, scoring five and assisting four.
It is likely that he will start against Blackburn on Saturday because the Whites have an injury doubt with Stuart Dallas.
It will be interesting to see what Alioski can do from the start in such a high-stakes game that Leeds need to win if they don’t want West Brom to have a chance of taking top-spot off them on Sunday when they play Hull.
