Leeds United almost signed Dan James last year before a deadline day deal was pulled by Swansea right at the death.
However, it looks like they might finally get their man, with Man United presenter Mark Goldbridge tweeting, “Dan James to Leeds happening this week then.”
Goldbridge is a presenter for The United Stand and is a solid source of United information.
Dan James to Leeds happening this week then

Leeds United fans were put on high alert when Dan James was dropped from the matchday squad for the game against Brighton on Saturday.
James started the first game of the season but he’s struggled to make it at Old Trafford and is now behind Mason Greenwood in the pecking order.
It was thought that James would only be allowed to leave if United made an attacking signing and this could mean a new incoming for them in the final week of the window.
That would be some consolation for the United fans who mainly seem against James being allowed to leave.
The tweet below is fairly representative of what United fans have made of this news.
That would be an insane decision. You cannot cut a young, up and coming player after just one season, he’s not even had time to adjust to the Prem properly.
He needs to be an understudy to Rashford on his favoured left side…he’s only been used on the right. Utter madness.

United’s loss would be Leeds’ gain, though, and it would represent an incredible turnaround to a transfer saga that seemed destined to end in misery for the Whites after what happened last year.
Bielsa is obviously a big fan of James and while he’s a winger by trade, he has played in the number 10 spot for Swansea.
We think Bielsa could turn him into the player he threatened to be when he moved to United and we’re excited at the prospect of this one coming off.
Athletic journalist Phil Hay said that Leeds are keen on a deal and MOT Leeds News columnist Paul Robinson said that while it would leave the squad top-heavy, “if a player like that becomes available and he wants to come then you don’t turn him down.”
