‘Gutted’ – Kalvin Phillips shares Twitter message ahead of Leeds clash v Leicester
Leeds United welcome Leicester City to Elland Road on Monday evening knowing they can jump into the top-four of the Premier League.
The Whites will be looking to continue their shining form which saw them destroy the previously unbeaten Aston Villa last week.
Marcelo Bielsa has been boosted by the return of captain Liam Cooper, who is expected to return in the heart of the defence.
One player who won’t feature is Kalvin Phillips.
The Yorkshire Pirlo is ruled out with a shoulder injury picked up against Wolves last month, something which should keep him out until after the international break.
Phillips has shared a message on his personal Twitter account before tonight’s game, claiming he is gutted to be missing out.
“Gutted that I can’t join the lads on the pitch yet but doing everything I can to be back as quickly as possible,” he wrote. “Thanks, everyone for the kind messages of support.”
Sooner the better
Despite the fact that Leeds haven’t struggled so far without Phillips, it doesn’t hide the fact that they are much better with him in the squad.
The initial update on his shoulder injury claimed that the 24-year-old could be out for atleast six weeks, which would have been a massive blow.
Phillips shared a positive update this week though, claiming he could be back in time for the Arsenal game, meaning he would only miss the Leicester and Palace games – fingers crossed.
As for now, Phillips will be cheering on Pascal Struijk who will be expected to continue his role in midfield against the Foxes tonight.
