Graham Smyth shares if Leeds United close to Mohamed Camara deal after he fuels transfer speculation

RB Salzburg midfielder Mohamed Camara is reportedly not close in on a move or a priority for Leeds United this summer.

Yorkshire Evening Post reporter Graham Smyth cleared the air on the club’s pursuit of the 22-year-old after his social media interactions fuelled transfer speculation.

He was spotted liking a comment on Instagram which says “Come to Leeds”, but nothing appears to be concrete thus far.

Smyth wrote, “The YEP understands that while Orta has long admired both RB Salzburg’s Mohamed Camara, whose social media interactions with Whites supporters has given rise to speculation that he is being lined up for a move, and RB Leipzig’s Tyler Adams, neither are currently considered priority targets – especially while Phillips remains in place.”

Play the waiting game

It seems that both Camara and Leeds will be playing the waiting game this summer over a potential Elland Road switch.

The Mali midfielder clearly fancies a move to the club which is why he’s going so far as to interact with comments like that.

However, it seems that the club will not pursue anyone seriously until Phillips’ situation is resolved, with Manchester City and PSG lining up to sign him.

Should he leave, players like Tyler Adams and Weston McKennie are also in the mix along with Camara.

They’re either American, worked with Marsch previously, or both, in the case of Adams as the Leeds boss is looking to rope in players he’s familiar with.

Hopefully, this transfer saga resolves soon and we get clarity as to what the plans are for the club ahead of next season.

In other Leeds United news, Fabrizio Romano has shared if a ‘Sensational’ defensive midfielder has agreed terms for an Elland Road switch and become the club’s fourth summer signing.
