Gjanni Alioski spotted in bizarre Euro training video ahead of N Macedonia v Ukraine

Leeds United left-back Gjanni Alioski has been spotted in training for North Macedonia ahead of their Euro 2020 clash against Ukraine.

While that’s not something spectacular or noteworthy, this one is particularly eye-catching and certainly not something that one normally sees in pre-game training.

The players begin by holding the ball in the cones which they carry to a certain point before exchange their ball with their partner’s and run back to the starting line.

Seems like fun

We’re not certain about the benefits of that kind of routine as, but it certainly does, which is why they’re being asked to do it.

It serves as a good exercise for the hands, legs and head, and also helps in warming up the body ahead of kick-off.

Alioski, whose future at Leeds United is uncertain, will be looking to prove himself at the EUROs as he’s looking likely to seal a transfer away from the club in the summer.

He had been linked with a move to Turkish side Galatasaray and it seemed extremely likely at one stage, but the transfer eventually fell through as the Whites have an interest in retaining his services. [The Mirror]

Via their official website, the Whites confirmed that a deal is on the table for Alioski, but whether or not he puts pen to paper on it, is another question altogether.

One of the reasons he would be wanting to leave is because he doesn’t enjoy playing as a left-back, despite Bielsa seeing that as his best position.

The Argentine has even deployed Stuart Dallas out of position there.

It’s clear that even if he does end up staying, we have to go in for a specialist left-back this summer.

We’ve often conceded unnecessary goals because of our frailties in that position and that must be addressed before next season begins.
