Gjanni Alioski reacts as Leeds United release new home kit
Leeds United released their home kit for the 2021-22 season on Thursday and the players, including midfield sensation Kalvin Phillips, have modelled it.
The England international took to his personal Instagram account to post himself in the new jersey, and recent Elland Road departee Gjanni Alioski appears to be a fan of the new strip, making his reaction known through an emoji.
Leeds players will don the kit when they host Everton on August 21 in their first home Premier League game of the campaign.
Alioski also replied to Illan Meslier’s post about the new kit, simply saying a French term of endearment: “Mon chéri.”
Alioski is yet to find a new club after leaving Yorkshire last month, but it appears he is already missing his old teammates.
The North Macedonian international took to his Instagram account last week to celebrate our one-year anniversary of Premier League promotion, and we believe he will not stop interacting with anything Leeds on social media anytime soon.
We cannot put it past the 29-year-old ordering some kits for himself, and he could soon start wishing he penned an extension instead of leaving.
Alioski is going to get a new team soon given his talents and experience, though, and we are eagerly waiting to see who snaps up the free agent.
Leeds have since brought in Spanish full-back Junior Firpo as his replacement, and the former Barcelona man will be keen to impress.
He is the perfect man to succeed the North Macedonian who played as a makeshift left-back during his last months at Elland Road, and we reckon he would be a top signing.
Leeds are currently preparing for a friendly clash against Firpo’s old team Real Betis (July 31), with games against Guiseley (July 27), Blackburn Rovers (July 28) Fleetwood Town (July 30) and Ajax (August 4) also lined up ahead of the Premier League opener against Manchester United on August 14.
