Gianluigi Longari: Watch out for Arsenal and Manchester United as Leeds reject first Raphinha offer from Barcelona
Gianluigi Longari has reported that Arsenal and Manchester United could hijack Barcelona in their bid to sign Leeds star Raphinha this summer.
The Italian journalist insists that the Spaniards still hold priority over any deal despite seeing their first offer batted away from officials at Elland Road.
In what could be seen as a warning, Longari has shared to “watch out” for the Premier League duo, who could swoop in to try and win the blockbuster deal.
Writing on his personal Twitter account, Longari suggested that there are more clubs to watch than just Barcelona as this saga continues.
“Raphinha – first offer rejected by Leeds,” he wrote.
“Barçelona has priority but watch out for the Premier League (Arsenal and Manchester United).”
This is something that could really help Leeds’ cause.
Barcelona have had major money issues in recent years, and anything that could drive up the price will not go down well in Spain or with Deco, who is clearly obsessed with that move.
Arsenal and Manchester United are both billionaire-backed clubs and could easily pay more.
Should struggles start to arise from the Camp Nou, they could easily jump in and throw more than £50million at the Whites to take the Brazilian off their hands.
If Raphinha was to move on though, we would much prefer it would be to the La Liga club, so we don’t have to be tormented watching him star in the Premier League every week.
Survival has really helped Leeds, who now have the ball in their own court and can demand as much as they want – you want our star man? Cough up the big money then.
